Dr. Stephanie Bantell (RUSM ‘09) was the subject of an extensive feature article in the Newton Independent upon joining the Newton Clinic in Iowa. A native of small town Wisconsin, Dr. Bantell knew by the age of 16 that she wanted to become a doctor. She attended the University of New Orleans on a full scholarship and majored in biomedical science. After a month of backpacking in Europe, she enrolled at RUSM, where she said the education program was intense. She matched into the family medicine program at Mercy Health System in Janesville, Wisconsin, less than an hour away from where she grew up. She was then recruited to the clinic in Newton, Iowa. “I love the familial feeling here,” she said in the article. “I know that I can call my fellow doctors at any time to ask questions. The nurses are very attentive. Overall, it’s exactly what I was looking for.”
